There is nothing like an old fool and I have ordered a brand new Flying Fifteen which I will sail in the Irish World Championship and then bring it back to Australia. As such AUS 3935 is available for immediate purchase.
It is an Ovington 10 with a P&B fit out. It was first registered in the UK in 2009 and purchased by me in 2010. It is an excellent well maintained boat that when sailed properly is extremely competitive. Being sailed properly by the current owner on a consistent basis has been the problem, although that said we have had many good race results over the years!
The boat underwent a professional touch up during the 2018 winter including installation of new kite bags and jib tracks suitable for both size headsails. Some new kite sheet blocks ($600) that would work well with either a bag or chute system were installed. There are three mains, three kites and four jibs. The newest complete set (including new style jib) have been used at the Nationals in January 2019, a few other races since. There is a relatively new older style jib (and another older one as well) and the second main is still used on a regular basis for club racing. All these sails are Goacher. The oldest set are fairly flat and are P&B. The boat has a new boom (January 2019). It has a RaceMaster compass. It has a “Keels on Wheels” trailer that was professionally modified with 13 inch wheels (as distinct from the UK 10 inch wheels) when I got it to Australia. It has a brand new spare that has never been used and spare bearings and hubs in good condition. It has a relatively new mast (used since January 2019) and another one that is about three years old. Rigging has been regularly replaced and there is a spare luff jib wire. All gear and sheets etc are in good condition. Carbon pole. The boat has both under and over covers. It is for sale for $25,500 with the older mast and $28,000 with the near new mast. I want to keep one of the masts as spare for my new boat. I have two separate single system spyro poles and fittings and the hatch cover can easily be removed for a chute system. I would be happy to take the bags off the boat and keep the bags and carbon pole as a spares and provide a purchaser with both the spyro poles and fittings. My guess is the spyro poles and fittings would be worth in the order $1,850 based on the P&B website new prices.
