Flying Fifteens are invited to compete in the annual Batavia Regatta to be held, as usual, in Geraldton over the June long weekend - in this case on Saturday May 30 and Sunday May 31.
This is a great chance to enjoy the warmer waters North of Perth, and get acclimatised to some ocean racing, in preparation for next year's State Titles, which will be held off Fremantle.
More information is available on
Geraldton Yacht Club's Facebook Page, and in the
Notice of Race.
This is the final regatta in the FFIWA Walkabout Series, with the previous regattas being:
- Pre Season Regatta – SoPYC (Sunday 28 September 2014)
- Tally Hobbs Regatta – SoPYC (Saturday 8 November 2014) and RFBYC (Sunday 22 March 2015)
- Windward Leeward Laid Course Day – SoPYC (Saturday, 7 February 2015)
- Labor Weekend Regatta – SoPYC (Saturday 28 February and Sunday 1 March 2015)
- State Championships – Esperance Bay Yacht Club (Friday, 3 April - Sunday, 5 April 2015)
Results in all events count towards the overall results in the Walkabout Series, so participation, as well as performance, is the key to taking out this trophy.
We look forward to seeing you all there in Geraldton.
