With sadness we inform members that Ron Packer, a Life Member of FFIA, passed away on November 29 after a long illness. Ron’s sailing portfolio is vast and varied and includes involvement with Americas Cup and Admirals Cup campaigns, ocean racing on east and west coasts of Australia as well as the 1979 Parmelia Race

The 2023 Flying 15 World Championship raffle was drawn on December 3, 2022 and the winners were: 1st prize: 1 x Aus Sails Flying 15 jib – ticket no. 60 Greg Leaversuch  2nd prize: 12 Bottles of Hacket Wine – ticket no. 52 Philippa Packer   3rd prize: 6 Bottles of Hacket Wine – ticket no.

We are saddened to report the passing of Les Kearney on Friday the 9th of September. Les was the immediate past president of FFIA having served in that role up until 2020. His jovial attitude, dry wit and (generally) lack of footwear made him great company around the boat park while being fearlessly competitive on

Despite efforts to hold this series at Fremantle Sailing Club, the 2022/2023 Tally Hobbs series will now be sailed at South of Perth Yacht Club on Sunday September 25 and Monday September 26, 2022. The Notice of Race is available here. Registrations are being accepted here.  There is no entry fee for the regatta.
