The Tally Hobbs Memorial Regatta is sailed each year to celebrate the introduction of the Flying Fifteen class to Western Australia in the late 1950’s and to remember the man who did the introducing, Tally Hobbs.

The summer sailing season is upon us and on Sunday September 23 ten Flying Fifteens ventured out from South of Perth Yacht Club for the preseason regatta. The racing was a lot closer than the AFL Grand Final the previous day with 5 races held in the morning in typical very light Easterly conditions followed,

A fleet of 17 Flying Fifteens from Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club and South of Perth Yacht Club braved the early morning start on Saturday March 23 for Day 1 of the Pre-states regatta on Melville Water West. Three races were scheduled for Day 1, with another three for the following day. Sometimes shifty south-easterly

Spending the Labour Day weekend at the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club is quickly becoming the trigger point in the season where the post-Christmas/Nationals period has finished ( it takes a while for some of us to get our heads around normal life!) and the “you better start getting ready for the States” period.
