Coaching & Set-Up Grant for New Boat Owners
FFIWA offers an introductory grant of $500 to new boat owners to help with boat set-up and/or on-water coaching!
Take advantage of expert guidance early in your Flying Fifteen journey and turn the learning curve into a fast track to confidence, performance, and enjoyment on the water. The Flying Fifteen is a challenging and exciting boat to sail, a thrilling dinghy with a planing hull and a keel. Our motto is “Come Fly a Fifteen”!
Your enjoyment of your new boat will be greatly enhanced by a little assistance from more experienced sailors. FFIWA is pleased to offer a reimbursement program designed to help new (boat owning) FFIWA members accelerate their Flying Fifteen learning journey.
Eligible members may apply for reimbursement of up to $500 towards expenses incurred for training from an approved coach to help them with boat set-up or Flying Fifteen sail coaching. T&Cs apply.
Applications by FFIWA members must be:
- Made within 24 months of purchasing their first Flying Fifteen.

Coaching to be within 24 months of commencing F15 sailing, to assist with and stimulate greater understanding of boat set up as well as how to improve your competitive racing skills.

It only relates to the new member’s first Flying Fifteen.

Previous F15 sailing experience will be taken into account.

The applicant can be either a boat-owning skipper, boat-owning crew or jointly owned. One application per boat.

They must have joined the Class Association, FFIWA.

Coach to be approved by the FFIWA President, preferably prior to the coaching session.

The grant is specifically reimbursement for expenses of said coach, on presentation of their invoice, report and photographs.

Boatowner might be asked to share the experience with other FF sailors for mutual encouragement and benefit.
This program is intended to assist new members to fast-track their learning journey in coming to grips with their new Flying Fifteen.
